Hi, I'm Jeik, a Dutch student, I came to Ecuador to do some research on their culture.

My sponsored family picked me up at the airport and I recognized them as very happy people willing to help. With them I got to know important places in the capital, Quito, like the Basilica and the cable car.

 After a month I started a trip to Galapagos. It was wonderful to meet unusual animal species like Darwin's finches or marine iguanas, but without a doubt my favorite animal was the sea lions.

I found it curious that in Ecuador they use diminutives to words and also names to be affectionate. 

It was a pleasure to be in Ecuador and learn about their customs.
